The family

Three generations.
One calling.

Dr. Ward Peterson opened the doors in 1985. In 2018 his son, Dr. Tim Peterson, took the reins — and today his father, brother, sister, and Dr. McKenzie Slattery all serve here. It really is a family office, and we treat your family like our own.

Tim grew up in his father's practice and graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College in 1995. He returned home to San Antonio in 2007 and took ownership in 2018. Since 2001 he has practiced the Torque Release Technique — a gentle, specific, instrument-assisted adjustment with no twisting or cracking.

What we stand on

"This is God's office. We seek His will in every decision."

God first
We open our doors in faith and prayer. Healing, for us, is a calling before it is a business — and that shapes how every patient is treated.
Love
You are a neighbor, not a number. We greet patients like family, listen before we adjust, and never pressure anyone into a plan they do not need.
Growth
Gentle, specific care that helps you move better, feel stronger, and take an active role in your own health — at every age, from infants to grandparents.
Helping others
Forty years in one community has taught us that the best care is honest. We will tell you when chiropractic is the right tool — and when it is not.
What brings people in

What we help with every week.

Most people who walk through our door are not chiropractic regulars. They are parents who picked up a toddler the wrong way, office workers who slept wrong, expectant moms looking for relief, and families who simply want to feel well — gently, without the twist-and-crack.

No. 01

Lower back pain

From sit-all-day stiffness to acute flare-ups. Gentle, specific adjustments restore motion without forceful twisting.

No. 02

Neck pain & stiffness

Forward-head posture, a bad pillow, or long hours at a screen. Often paired with shoulder tension and headaches.

No. 03

Headaches & migraine

Tension and cervicogenic headaches respond well to gentle upper-cervical work and soft-tissue release.

No. 04

Sciatica & nerve pain

Radiating leg pain, numbness, or tingling. The Torque Release approach targets the nerve interference at its source.

No. 05

Pregnancy & prenatal

Webster-certified care for low-back, hip, and pelvic comfort through every trimester — gentle and supported.

No. 06

Infants & children

Remarkably light, age-appropriate adjustments — often no more than fingertip pressure — for colic, sleep, and growth.

No. 07

Posture & wellness

Many of our patients have no pain at all — they come to stay aligned, energized, and well as a way of life.

No. 08

Stress & tension

A nervous system under constant load shows up in the spine. Gentle care helps the body shift out of fight-or-flight.

How we care

Gentle first.
Specific, scientific, and no cracking.

Every patient gets a real exam, real listening, and a plan that explains itself. These are the tools we draw from once we understand what is actually going on — matched to you, not handed out from a menu.

Care · 01

Torque Release Technique

Our signature method. A gentle, precise, instrument-assisted adjustment that releases nerve interference — no twisting, no popping, no cracking. Comfortable enough for newborns and seniors alike.

Care · 02

Webster Technique

A specific, certified sacral analysis and adjustment for pregnancy. It helps balance the pelvis and reduce tension, supporting mom's comfort through every trimester.

Care · 03

Pediatric & infant care

Light, careful adjustments for babies and children — often nothing more than fingertip pressure — for colic, sleep, posture, and healthy development.

Care · 04

Interferential current therapy

Low-frequency electrical stimulation that eases muscle spasm and pain, often used to prepare tight tissue before a gentle adjustment.

Care · 05

Intersegmental traction

A relaxing, motorized roller table that gently mobilizes the spine, improves circulation, and helps restore the spine's natural curves.

Care · 06

Digital X-ray & exam

When imaging is warranted, we take and review it on-site so your care is based on what is actually happening in your spine — never guesswork.

Care · 07

Prayer, on request

For patients who welcome it, we are glad to pray with you. It is never required, never assumed — simply offered, the way it has been here since 1985.

"We seek to find healing through gentle adjustments, genuine prayer, and personalized care."

First visit

What to expect on your first appointment.

No mystery. No "let's see how it goes." Here is exactly what happens, in order, on the day you walk in.

  1. 1

    Welcome & paperwork (15 minutes)

Fill out the new-patient packet ahead of time or in our waiting room. Bring your insurance card and a photo ID.

  2. 2

    Conversation (20 minutes)

The doctor sits down with you. We listen first — what hurts, when, how long, what you have tried, and what you need to be able to do.

  3. 3

    Exam & imaging

Gentle orthopedic, neurologic, and range-of-motion testing. If digital X-rays are needed we take them on-site; if not, we will tell you so.

  4. 4

    An honest plan

You leave with a clear plan and an answer to "how long until I feel better." No fourteen-page packets, no high-pressure sales.

  5. 5

    Your first gentle adjustment

Most new patients receive their first Torque Release adjustment the same day. If today is not the right day, that is perfectly fine.

Common questions

What new patients usually ask first.

If the question on your mind is not here, just call us — we would rather answer it now than have you guess.

Will you twist or crack my neck and back?

No. Our signature Torque Release Technique is a gentle, specific, instrument-assisted adjustment — no twisting, no forceful popping or cracking. It is comfortable enough for newborns, expectant moms, and seniors.

How long until I feel better?

Many patients notice a meaningful change within the first few visits. Long-standing issues take longer — we will give you an honest read after your first exam, not a generic plan.

Is chiropractic care safe for children and babies?

Yes, when done by a chiropractor trained to work on them. Pediatric and infant adjustments are remarkably gentle — often just fingertip pressure. We care for children every week.

Can I be seen while I'm pregnant?

Absolutely. Dr. McKenzie Slattery is certified in the Webster Technique, a gentle method designed to support comfort and balance throughout pregnancy.

Do I need a referral?

No. Chiropractors are primary-contact providers in Texas. You can call us directly — no referral required.

Is this a faith-based office?

It is. We are openly Christ-centered and glad to pray with patients who welcome it. That said, prayer is never required or assumed — everyone is cared for with the same respect and gentleness.

Do you sell long pre-paid packages?

No. We do not require pre-paid care plans or bundles. After your exam we recommend a plan with a clear end-point, and we revisit it together as you progress.
